News: Extended jubilee hours confirmed

By Dadds LLP, 28, March, 2012 - 12:07

Diamond Jubilee celebrations

A reminder – it has been confirmed that local residents will be able to enjoy extended opening times and licensing hours in pubs, restaurants and clubs during the weekend of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Extended licensing hours

Following a public consultation in October 2011, in which around eighty five per cent of respondents were favourable to the extension of hours, licensed premises in England and Wales will be able to take advantage of staying open between 11pm on Friday 1st June and 1am on Saturday 2nd June and between 11pm on Saturday 2nd June and 1am on Sunday 3rd June.

The Order will not, of course, apply to businesses that do not have the relevant authorisation on their premises licences.

Those premises which would like to carry out additional licensable activities, for example providing live music where their licence does not already permit them to do so, will need to apply for a temporary event notice.
